Back when punch was on the menu of every gathering and birthday party, recipes just like the one I am about to share were common. Fruity, sweet. creamy, and slightly effervescent, it makes me want to go thrift some punch bowls.
This recipe comes from one of my Aunts. I have probably had this recipe at some point in my childhood.
Kool Aid Punch

Things here are pretty straight forward. This is something you want to put together close to the time you'd like to serve it.
One quart is 4 cups.
You can substitute the kool aid, sherbet, and juices with different flavors. For example, you could do lime aid instead of lemon aid, lime sherbet, and lime kool aid.
There are so many more soda flavors now that I bet you could swap in for the ginger ale or 7-up.
I'm sure you could add alcohol of some type if you must. But why not just enjoy it for what it is?
This is definitely not a health conscious beverage. Just pick a different recipe if you need it to be.
Punches like this one are pure nostalgia for me. I think they can still have a place at our parties. There's something special about gathering at the punch bowl and talking with people as you fill their cup and yours. It's a traditional way to build community, through small gestures and shared food, for young and old alike.
Thanks for being here!
