Menopause Musings: Mentality Matters

The beauty of alliteration! Catchy title aside, what do I mean by mentality matters?

How you think greatly impacts how things turn out.

I'm not talking the 'name-it-claim-it' B.S.

Your thoughts shape your reality. Want to think something is bad? Well, you will find the reason why it's bad. Want to find the good in something? You will!

So how you approach aging and the journey that is menopause is going to have an impact.

I know how hard it is to keep your mind straight when going through all of the changes menopause brings. It's literally rewiring your brain, just like the rewire of puberty, but in the opposite direction. FUN!

But, you can decide to embrace it and to take care of yourself.

There's a lot to love about the other side of this temporary struggle. The peace and clarity of mind. The focus on self and what matters to you. The wisdom and knowledge you've earned. No menstrual cycle!

I'm not saying it's easy. I know it's not. I've been there. But you need to work with the changes, not against them. Don't think of yourself as sick and broken, you're not.

You're evolving.

You are becoming the third, the best, version of yourself. You were once a child, then a young woman, and now you're getting old... and that can be the best part.

If you're willing to change your mentality.

I'll talk more about menopause in other posts, but for now the biggest, bestest thing you can do?

Embrace the journey, love yourself and discover her. You don't have to enjoy everything about menopause, but you do need to focus on the prize at the end --- the best version of yourself. You're going to love her!

Thanks for being here!
