Allow Me To Re-introduce Myself

It's been a hot minute since I've introduced myself, meaning since the first iteration of my blog, now, hopefully, non-existent. Hard to believe, I know, considering the amateur hour production value. Did I hear a snicker from some of you O.G.'s? Good, I've earned it!

For those of you new to the blog, welcome and thank you for joining me! I'm sure you've noticed things around here are plain and straightforward. That is with intention. You see, I started this whole operation because I noticed something, that frankly, stuck sideways in my craw. There's a whole idea being proffered that DIY is for crazies and you shouldn't do it because it could be dangerous or even worse... you could make a mistake! GASP! You're better off just leaving everything to an expert. We are only trying to keep you safe.

Ladies and Gentlemen, that right there is a statement supporting an idea I call 'learned helplessness'. Why the mere idea that you might try to use that organ floating around in your cranium to figure something out on your own is preposterous, dangerous, and subversive thinking don't you know!?!

Poppycock!

How did anything ever get done on God's green Earth without an expert? The same way it always has, by people thinking about the problem at hand and a lot of trial and error.

That's why I'm here. Not to be an expert in anything, but to show you that the real expert in your life, is YOU. If I can figure something out, so can you. I know you can!

So who am I? I am me. But perhaps the answer you're looking for is a little more along the lines of things that define me. Very well. I am a mom, a wife, a Christian, a gen x-er, a homemaker, a woman, a game master, blogger, hobbyist, and human at large.

Levity aside, I am just another human being like you. I wear a lot of different hats and I do a lot of different things. I am always learning and doing and making mistakes and doing something in a completely different way than I did the time before.

What do I bring to the table? Well, usually a meal. (I think I'm funny.) Nothing special. Just me being me, sharing with you how I did a thing because I hope it helps you to do your thing. Because I want you to see that you can do things.

Thank you for reading this far. I hope What DON'T I Do? Becomes one of your favorite blogs. I am glad you are here! I believe in you! You CAN do great things! I'd love to help!
